We’re Keith and Lee, the duo behind the fire. What started as a shared passion for great food, open-fire cooking, and bringing people together has grown into a mobile catering service dedicated to creating memorable braai experiences across Kent and the surrounding areas.

A braai is more than just a barbecue. In South Africa it’s a way of life — gathering with friends, sharing incredible food, and enjoying relaxed moments around the fire. That’s the atmosphere we aim to recreate at every event we cater, from private garden parties and weddings to corporate events and community celebrations.

We specialise in flame-grilled meats, bold flavours, and generous portions, cooked over real wood and charcoal the way a proper braai should be. Our menus combine traditional South African favourites with classic BBQ staples, all freshly prepared and cooked on-site so your guests can enjoy the full fire-cooking experience.

Lee brings years of hands-on cooking experience and a passion for perfecting flavour over the coals, while Keith focuses on making sure every event runs smoothly and every guest leaves happy (and well fed). Together, we take pride in delivering great food, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes every event special.
